Who are we?

A little History..

Witronic was founded in 1972 by Bernard Winkel sr. .From the start (to the present), Witronic designs and produces clientspecific inductive components (transformers and spools). The company grows steadily. Already in 1974, Witronic buys the present building at the Mercuriusweg 5 and extends it in 1980, 1985 and 1990.

In 1979 (after graduating from the Universitystudies Electrotechnics and BusinessKnowledge) son Arnold Winkel joins the company, from 1980 as co-shareholder. In 1985 founder Winkel senior resigned as CEO and shareholder. From 1991 -being the very first in its line of business- Witronic is organized according to NEN ISO 9001, and from 1994 to the present certified as such. And since 1990 Witronic has a UL-Recognition, a nearly indispensable condition in order to be able to supply to clients who export to the USA

The concern invests a lot in automation of the production, on one hand to control the costs of labour, but also to be able to produce a high amount of high quality products.

The clients of Witronic leading concerns in their line of business Witronic products are applied in medical equipment, anti-shopliftingsystems, gasregulation-equipment, studio’s, nightsight-equipment, (photo-)copying machines, cars, measure- and regelationequipment, no-break systems, solar power convertors, etc.

Witec was founded in 1986 Bernard Winkel (who attended an education to instrumentconstructor). Witec produces and supplies clientspecific finemechanical parts “ “the size of your hand but mostly smaller””. These parts are made of different metalalloyagess and/or plastics.

From the start, Witec has chosen for specializing in the size of the parts being produced. By this, an assessment arises within the company which eventually builds the solid foundation of Witec. A growingspurt in 1997 by taking over the mechanical section of Philips Stadskanaal ushers in a new era.

Witec invests in inïvests in equipement,-like the newest lathesystems and millingmachines- and the building of a new building is being planned. In August 1999 the new building (the present building) is finished. In 2005 Jan van de Maat becomes partner at Witec. His background lies in improving industrialprocesses, with a sharp eye for innovation and the wishes of clients.

Now both companies are fusioned, WitecWitronic offers an addition sum of what both companies did before. WitecWitronic is a knowledgecompany with productionfacilities. The separate partners are productioncompanies with production knowledge at elementlevel. Currently, WitecWitronic is supplying more and more complete systems.

In 2006, Arnold Winkel has retired as director/shareholder. The managementteam of Witec/Witronic consists of Bernard Winkel en Jan van de Maat.

19 januari 2009 - Ter Apelers investeren Op de dag dat president Nout Wellink van De Nederlandsche Bank een nog grotere economische terugval voorspelde, werd bij WitecWitronic in Ter Apel de laatste hand gelegd aan de montage van een vijfassig freescentrum. Een investering van ruim vier ton. WitecWitronic handelt 'tegen de keer in' TER APEL - WitecWitronic is producent van hoogwaardige fijnmechanische onderdelen en inductieve componenten. Sinds het Ter Apeler bedrijf in januari van dit jaar het in Oirschot gevestigde Wijdeven overnam, is het marktleider in deze branche. „Wijdeven is een bedrijf met een omzet van 21 miljoen euro", vertelt accountmanager Raimon Warta. Maar nog belangrijker: „Wijdeven heeft rechtstreekse lijnen met bijvoorbeeld ASML, een multinational. Daardoor zitten wij nu heel hoog in de keten." WitecWitronic, opgericht in 1972, groeit als nooit tevoren. In 2008 werd een omzetstijging van 24 procent gerealiseerd. Warta: „De vraag is niet langer: hoeveel gaan we groeien, maar hoe hard kunnen we mee? We moeten investeren om die groei bij te houden." Dat doet het bedrijf dan ook: vorige week werd een vijfassig freescentrum van de Zwitserse leverancier Mikron gemonteerd. Met 65 pallets, 220 gereedschappen en inwendige koeling. „Een enorme stimulans voor ons machinepark. Zowel qua nauwkeurigheid en complexiteit als qua efficiency. We kunnen hiermee onbemand werken en toch flexibel blijven", stelt Warta. „Wij zijn specialisten", vertelt manager operations ('productiebaas') Wim Renooij: „Wij leveren geen grote series eenvoudig werk, maar produceren vooral kleine series voor klanten met zeer specifieke, hoge hoge eisen. Deze nieuwe machine bezit de intelligentie om toch onbemand te kunnen werken. In deze machine kunnen we namelijk verschillende producten laten draaien." Warta, ter aanvulling: „Het is tachtig procent organisatie, twintig procent machines." Renooij: „Daarom zoeken we beter geschool personeel, minimaal MBO-niveau fijnmechanica, dat deze CNCmachines kan instellen en programmeren." Daarnaast is WitecWitronic, dat begin volgend jaar Wijdeven Precision Parts zal heten, op zoek naar onder andere frezers en draaiers. Warta: „Die mensen hoeven niet eens uit de fijnmechanica te komen. Er werken hier al mensen die oorspronkelijk uit de dakgotenmontage komen. Wij investeren namelijk ook in het interne opleidingtraject." Renooij: „Het afgelopen jaar 50.000 euro. Bovendien participeren wij in Stichting Engineering Noord, een regionaal project dat jonge mensen wil klaarstomen voor technische functies op MBO-niveau." De verwachting is dat in 2009 vijf tot tien vacatures ontstaan. Momenteel werken 65 mensen in Ter Apel Details...

Ter Apel�s WitecWitronic acquires Brabant-based Wijdeven Combined business becomes market leader following acquisition WitecWitronic, headquartered in Ter Apel, the Netherlands, has acquired Wijdeven, another Dutch company operating in the same sector. The acquisition represents an important development for our company.
